Elayaperumal claims that Medtronic deliberately denied him a job due to his race and national origin. He claims that his poor performance review in June of 2000 and the refusal to give him certain projects assignments were motivated by racism. Medtronic has not provided any evidence to show that its decisions were based on these factors. Furthermore, Elayaperumal's less-than-perfect performance review didn't result in an increase in his salary or benefits, nor did it affect his duties.
